Weve partnered with Payit by NatWest to provide you with a new, simpler and faster payment method online.

Payit uses the UK’s Open Banking infrastructure to securely connect to your bank’s mobile banking app or online banking. This allows you to log in using your existing credentials. Payit does not see your login credentials and Payit does not store or share any of your personal bank account information. More details on Open Banking.

There is no need to sign up to Payit. Go straight to Payit and pay securely through a bank transfer on your bank app or online banking.

Payit is safely and securely developed by NatWest. But the good news is you don’t have to be a NatWest customer to use it.

Your bank account(s) and balance(s) are available to view before you make a payment with Payit, giving you better clarity and control over your finances.

No. Payit is an online payment method on our website. You can use it to make payments on your desktop, laptop, mobile or tablet.

No, it doesn’t have to be used on a mobile or tablet. You can use Payit on a web browser, although the journey will be even smoother on a mobile. You will need to sign into your online banking to use Payit via a web browser on desktop.

There is no limit on how much you can pay. However, there may be a limit on how much your bank allows you to pay. This is set by the bank and is not a limitation placed by Payit.

There is no charge to make payments with Payit.

Sometimes transactions may be held by your bank to do some further checks. You can check your mobile or online banking to see if the payment was released by the bank or contact them through your usual channels.

If Payit told you the payment was cancelled or failed, no funds should be taken. If the payment is in progress or you are unsure if it was successful, we suggest you wait for a few hours, then check your online or mobile banking again to see if it has gone through. If there is still an issue, please contact your bank.

Contact us in the case of an error on any of the Payit screens, and contact your bank if an error occurs during your bank’s journey. 

Payit has already connected to a number of major UK banks and the list of banks they offer is always growing. If your bank is not listed you can still make a payment using your debit card.

Payit is accessible on most desktop browsers and mobile devices, but smaller providers or older handsets may mean you can’t see it properly on your screen. Please be assured that the Payit service is safe and that your transaction should still work in the same way.

You can see all your bank accounts in one place. No need to log in, sign up or get card details. Say goodbye to codes and passwords. Any payments you make via Payit will be reflected in your Bank Statement.

Payit is a direct participant of Faster Payments, so once a payment is made via Payit, money should be taken out of your account almost immediately. However, this can sometimes take up to two hours.

  1. Make sure you have the updated version of the banking app
  2. If you are using an Android device, use Chrome instead of Samsung Internet OR ensure you have enabled the setting in Samsung Internet under ‘Useful Features’ called ‘Open links in other apps’
  3. If you are on an Android device copy the browser link and open it in your standard browser app instead
